Finally I have located a site for you guys and what a beautiful website it is. You all look fantastic, and by all accounts are doing amazing. Cudos to you. Do you think you might ever extend your concerts away from the Maritimes? Many come to my area at Centre In The Square in Kitchener, Ontario. Would love to attend a concert. I am an American born Burke. I believe my ancestors came from Ireland but have not been able to prove that. I just found you on facebook and was excited to see a family of ten grown-ups singing together. I am from a family of six siblings. We too have strong Christian and family values. I took my mom ( 82 ), mother- in- law ( 76) and a great family (
72) friend to your family concert on Saturday night. It was the most wonderful evening we have spent together in a long time. The talent and humor was fabulous. I do believe what we all most enjoyed was the atmosphere that your family portrayed in the pride and love you display, of your gift to entertain, and also your love for each other and our Father.
My three guests all exclaimed that it was by far the best concert they had ever attended and plans are made for next year. These women are well travelled and have seen some of the "best" professionals in the world and felt that Saturday night was the most uplifting performance they have attended.. Their only regret was that their spouses ( all passed on) could not be there to share the experience. You can be rest assured that the contingent from Sydney Mines will be larger next year.
My mom is just three weeks post op of a knee replacement and stated she never had an ache or pain from curtain opening until the next morning. The power your gift to entertain and soothe the body and soul goes a lot farther than the 2 hours on stage.
Thank you again for the opportunity for us to share the Christmas season with you. See you next year.

Our congratulations to your family on the recent EMCA Nomination. We were able to hear you recently at Birch Cove Baptist in Halifax. We were in the process of moving to Fredericton after 30+ yrs. in Halifax and very glad to have the opportunity to see and hear your presentation. My wife played the new CD several times over in our car on the move from Halifax to Fredericton. Unfortunately I was driving alone in the UHaul Truck with no great music as she was singing with a big smile on her face as she would pass me. Since settling, I seem to play that CD most everyday. My wife also purchased the other 2 CD's and #1 song on the Christmas CD is fast becoming my favorite. Keep up the great music praising God! We were able to recently see the LaPointes Christmas concert in Fredericton. I do hope that both your families could do something in NB in 2009. I'll talk to Joel or Andy if I see them to get working on that.

I just wanted to say that I celebrated my 83rd birthday yesterday, Dec 11, and one of my birthday gifts luckily, was your CD, "The Reason We Sing".
My wife and I played it for the first time this am, and enjoyed it immensely. Music has always had a prominent place in our lives, and we really appreciate hearing performances as special as your CD.
We commented this am., that you guys and gals must be the most professional sounding, of all the wonderful performers that have developed on Cape Breton Island.

Hi gang. I'm so pleased to hear there is yet another new CD!! I must say, listening to the clips and looking at your photos made me miss home, and all of you. It's been far too long really. All is well in Thunder Bay and Liam is growing like a weed. On any day, he's banging on the piano, or walking around with his guitar around his neck singing some song he heard, or something off the top of his head. Not bad for a "not quite" four year old.
Anyway, I wish you all the success you all so greatly deserve. Your talent is overwhelming and, more importantly, your souls are truly beautiful. I look forward to the CD.

My name is Roylene Corkum. My sister (Sherry Spracklin works with Brenda)
She and my Mom were at your Cd release concert in Sydney and purchased a CD for me. I have your other two which I enjoy very much. Whenever I am lonesome for good old CB, I put on your CD. I must say this new CD has blessed me beyond words, so I just wanted to say thank you. I especially enjoyed the three songs that Pius wrote . My husband and I have been involved in the Gospel music scene for a number of years. We were good friends of the Gospel Airs from Fredericton where Roly had a recording studio for a couple of years. Sold it when we went into ministry full time.
So pleased to hear good Gospel Music coming out of Cape Breton. Keep up the good work. All the best

Thanks to all the family for creating this wonderful cd ! The song choices and Pius' original works are soooo great. As always it's the harmonies that make me cry ( in a good way!) and God still has a lot of 'splainin' to do about me not being born a Burke.
