What a wonderful evening at the Savoy in Glace Bay, it was an awesome way to end our Christmas concert season......thanks to all for your continued support, love and prayers from our family to yours for a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.

We had a great time at the Savoy show this weekend.....what a way to end our 'Christmas tour' for the 2009 season ! Its been an awesome year and words can't express how wonderful it has been to have oldest brother Stan with us for all of our shows, having the whole family together has made this year the most blessed ever. Thanks to all for your wonderful support. Have a very Merry Christmas!!

'A Burke Family Christmas Concert' will be held Saturday, Nov. 21st at 7:00pm at Knox United Church--567 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville--advance tickets are $12.00 available at 'Knox United' or at 'Miracles' and 'Noahs Ark' in Bayers Lake, or by phoning 835-6438/ 865-5187. We're pleased to anounce that "The Reason we Sing" has been nominated for a Music Industry of Nova Scotia Award for Inspirational Artist/Group Recording of the year.

The Burkes are happy to announce that our album 'The Reason We Sing' was nominated for a Covenant award by the 'Gospel Music Association of Canada'. Also, an original song by Pius Burke called 'Song of Hope' recieved a nomination for 'Southern Gospel Song of the Year'. Thanks so much for all who continue to support us!!

The Burke's were absolutely thrilled to participate in the 'Alive on the Island' festival in CB, what an amazing weekend!

We were very honored to open for the 'Gaither Vocal Band' on Friday night, what a wonderful crowd!

One of the highlights of our weekend was the final concert on Sunday where we performed with Rita MacNeil, JP Cormier, Dutch Robinson, the 'Hallelujah Praise Choir', and the 'Men of the Deeps'.

We met so many fantastic people, and we were honored to share the stage with so many wonderful performers, it was a double treat for us because our oldest brother Stan was home from Ontario to perform with us. Our brother Pius also showcased in the 'songwriters circle' Saturday afternoon , we are so proud of him.

A good time was had by all who attended the weekend, we can't wait for next year!

The family had a wonderful weekend performing at the 'Women of Grace' conference in Hfx., and also at the Woodlawn United Church in Dartmouth.

Many thanks for the wonderful hospitality , and for the fabulous luncheon put on by the church after the concert.

We are so excited to announce that our latest album 'The Reason We Sing' has won an ECMA for 'Gospel Album of the Year' for 2009 !

The Burke girls attended the awards in Cornerbrook NFLD, and we had a wonderful, music-filled weekend with lots of laughs, and even a few visiting moose to contend with. ( It wouldn't be NFLD without them!) Thanks so much to all of you who have supported us throughout the years, you are such a blessing to our family!

We look forward to upcoming shows in Hfx and Cape Breton, and we are particularly excited to be attending 'Alive on The Island' in Aug. 2009 in Sydney, for what will be the largest Gospel festival ever to come to our province. Don't miss it!

What a wonderful fun-filled musical weekend we had in The Cape! The Savoy was a great venue for our 'Burke Family Christmas' variety concert. It was an evening of Christmas songs, sing-alongs, and lots of laughs with skits and 'visiting' musicians....even Elvis showed up for a few tunes!

Our 'family' band was fantastic... Lindsay and Daniel, Kevin and Pius, Stephen Muise and Ronnie Leadbeater, and we were so happy to have nephew B.J. Richardson join us on the 'big stage' for the first of many times we hope.

Jen Sheppard as stage manager, and Derrick Hearn as MC kept things flowing beautifully throughout the night, and Robert MacLean of 'Celebration Events' did an amazing job of transforming the stage into a gorgeous Christmas scene complete with lit pillars and Christmas trees. A good time was certainly had by all, including the Burkes!
Planning has begun for next years show, stay tuned for dates.

On Sunday morning, we all headed to the 'Christian Fellowship Church' in Sydney for a performance during their service. We so enjoy visiting their parish, such a faith-filled congregation, it was the perfect ending to a great weekend !

Our 'Burke Family Christmas' CD has officially 'sold out' for the 2008 Holiday Season. We will have the CD available once again in the spring of 2009. Thank you so much for your amazing support, have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Good news! Today we officially recieved an ECMA nomination for 'The Reason We Sing' in the 'Gospel Recording of the Year' category !

We are so pleased for everyone involved in the recording of this album....especially our producer and lifelong friend, Stephen Muise, and our amazing sound engineer, Jamie Foulds of Soundpark Studios, and also for the many talented musicians we were so fortunate to have playing for us. Many thanks to our brother Pius for his beautiful and heartfelt writing, we are so proud to have three of his songs featured on the CD.

We would like to extend a sincere 'thank you' to all who continue to support us and our music...........we are blessed to have such amazing friends.

Wow, what a wonderful weekend we had in Amherst! The Christmas show at Tantramar Theatre was so fun and faith-filled, we even had a surprise appearance from Elvis! Our family also had the pleasure of performing in Sackville and Moncton, New Brunswick on Saturday and Sunday morning. Thanks so much to Lindsay and Daniel for playing with us this weekend. We are all so grateful for your presence and your God given gift for music. Our family has been so blesssed to have this opportunity to share our music and we never take this for granted. Thanks for your continued support. We hope to be back up this way again soon!

What a lovely weekend in Sackville/ Bedford! Our first concert was at Knox United Church in Sackville, we were so excited to have such a large and enthusiastic crowd at our first CD release in the Metro area. Thanks so much to Tony and Janet Mombourquette, friends and parish members who organized our visit to Knox, and to all of the ladies of the parish who supplied a beautiful lunch after the show. Tony's musical group 'Innapinch' started the show, their voices blending beautifully together, what a treat for us to hear!

Sunday evening we headed to Birch Cove Baptist in Rockingham. Such a beautiful parish, and a lovely crowd was in attendance. Thanks to Lori and Pastor John Wilton for organizing our visit.

Our CD release in Sydney was a fantastic and memorable evening! What a wonderful crowd, and we can't begin to express how much it meant to have our brother Sam home from Windsor Ont. for the show. Our Mom was so happy to see the whole family together again.
After the concert, Kevin's wife Jo-Ann and her sister Alicia treated everyone to tea and homemade sweets. A beautiful time was had by all... So much to be thankful for. Please check out some of our CD release pics recently added to the site....God Bless!

Also, we expect to be stocked at 'Miracles' in Bayers Lake in the coming week.

Hey, we just finished recording our third CD, it's called 'The Reason We Sing' and it should be in our hands in late September. We're really excited about this one, 14 of some of our favorite songs. Hope you enjoy it!

Update: Sydney area "The Reason we Sing" CD Release has been confirmed for October 11th/08 at First United Church at 105 Whitney Avenue. Show starts at 7:00 P.M. and a "Meet and Greet" with Tea and crumpits will follow.
